๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ Izowave: The Art of Strategic Mazing

Izowave Build And Defend is a distillation of the Tower Defense genre down to its purest mechanical component: Mazing. Unlike games where enemies follow a pre-set path, here the player is the architect of the path. The enemies will always take the shortest route to your Core. Your objective is to build walls to make that "shortest route" as long, winding, and deadly as possible.

The game operates on a grid-based isometric plane. It combines resource management with spatial geometry. The strategy lies in the efficiency of space. You have limited resources to build blocks. A straight line of turrets is inefficient; a spiral maze that forces enemies to walk past the same turret three times maximizes the "Damage Per Second" (DPS) output of your investment.

โš™๏ธ Turret Synergy and Placement

Success requires understanding the distinct roles of your defensive arsenal:

  • The Blaster (Single Target): High damage, low fire rate. Best placed at the end of a maze to finish off weakened, high-HP enemies.
  • The Area Cannon (AOE): Deals splash damage. These should be placed at "choke points" or sharp corners where enemies naturally clump together due to pathfinding logic.
  • The Freezer (Utility): Does no damage but slows enemies. This effectively multiplies the damage of all other turrets. A freezer placed at a maze entrance is mathematically more valuable than another gun.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Economic Scaling

The game features an active economy. You must build "Generators" to produce the currency needed for walls and guns. However, Generators are vulnerable targets. The high-level strategy involves a concept called "Greeding"โ€”building as many generators as possible early in the game (sacrificing defense) to secure an exponential economic advantage for the late game waves.

๐Ÿง  Pathfinding AI Manipulation

The enemy AI uses a dynamic A* pathfinding algorithm. They recalculate their path every time you place a block. Advanced players use this to "juggle" enemiesโ€”blocking the exit at the last second to force enemies to turn around and walk back through the maze, effectively doubling the length of the kill zone.

โ“ FAQ

Why are enemies attacking my walls?

If you completely block the path to the Core, the AI switches to "Breach Mode" and attacks the walls. You must always leave at least one open path.

How do I heal my base?

The Core regenerates slowly, but you can also build repair modules in later updates or focus on preventing damage via better walls.
